Thekla is the only floating club in Bristol, but due to its permanent moorings sea-sickness should not be a problem! With a range of alternative music on all decks, together with a recent refurbishment, Thekla is a very popular place for a night out. BlowPop, on the fourth Friday of each month, is the largest of the club nights which run from 10pm until 3am during the week and 4am at weekends. Thekla is also a good place to see live music especially from up and coming bands such as The Crimea, Air Traffic and Morning Runner. It is advisable to buy tickets for gigs in advance to avoid disappointment, as many sell-out quickly. The bar opens from 12 noon, serving food at lunchtime and early evening, making it a great place to meet with friends. Although drinks can be expensive, Thekla is hard to beat for atmosphere and is definitely part of the Bristol experience!
