Election Manifesto - March 2006
Election Manifesto from March 2006
Profile:
Hi everybody, I am a first year student, studying Psychology and Criminology. Keeping it brief, I am self-confident, reliable, friendly, and hardworking and have a good sense of humour. I am supportive of everyone around me and a team player, competent in handling difficult situations and remain calm and efficient under pressure. I can adapt well to changes in the work conditions. Please do vote and I don't just mean for me but for anyone you support.
Aims:
- Persue First and U.W.E in order to get changes promised over transport.
- Improving communication between the union and students, e.g. suggestion boxes.
- Unite with Bristol Union to fight common problems
- To get most lectures to use blackboard affectively as support is available for them
- Support every student issue raised in an appropriate and satisfying manner.
Manifesto:
I believe that there are various reasons as to why I would be the best person to be the Vice-President of the Student Union. Most importantly is the fact that I have previously been a rep at school, college as well as at university. Not only am I familiar with what is involved in being a rep, I also have a very good understanding of how thing work at U.W.E. I have been involved in various committees and attended meetings involving both fellow students and academic staff.
I have also been involved with writing a motion and am also aware of the dedication and time required for this post. I have previously juggled studying, working part-time, voluntary work and organising events along with finding time for my other interests, which has helped develop my ability to divide my time wisely.
One of my main aims is to ensure that First keep their word and show changes promised at the AGM as well as persue .U.W.E to improve transport.. Some may not agree, but I believe that if we were to unite with Bristol Union whilst dealing with common problems with First, NUS, etc, we would be a stronger force, which would benefit all of us. I also plan on maintaining the great standards by which the existing president and vice-president have worked, by listening to what students have to say and working well with everyone around me.
