Presidents of UWESU

Manifesto

My election manifesto that set out why I should be elected Activities President for 2006-07.

EVENTS AND ENTERTAINMENTS

I feel that I am the ideal candidate to take on this job, using my experience with the UWESU events team to start quickly and efficiently from next year. 2006/07 is a vitally important year for Frenchay with over 2000 students living on Campus and it is vital that the students' union is ready to offer the experience students want. Equally it is important not to forget Bower Ashton, Glenside, St Matt's and Hartpury's equally important needs for students arriving in their halls.

SOCIETIES

Ryan has done a great job with societies this past year and I intend to follow in his lead. Involvement in societies is up and I want to see a continued rise. More people living on university campuses mean a greater need for student lead and managed activity, something I want to see happening regularly.

MEDIA

As part of the media team I know that many great changes are happening with UWESU.net and I know that important work has been done by our media contributors including our full time publications editor. I intend to continue support for these people and aid them by getting them more contributors and more people interested in their products.

CAMPAIGNING

Finally there is a need for campaigning on key issues such as First buses and against the universities policy of blocking the development of social provisions, including a high quality bar that is now unable to be built.
