The UWE Boat club work hard and play hard!! We are one of the most successful and biggest clubs at UWE. You are able to strengthen existing skills or learn totally new ones.
We have fantastic socials every other Wednesday throughout the academic year such socials include a Bath pub crawl, three legged pub crawl, a Christmas ball, a Boat Race ball, and a Henley Picnic party.
Races are confirmed at the beginning of the year and then are e-mailed out to all members as well as notices placed on the UWE Boat club website. Our major Races throughout the year include BUCS small boats head, the BUCS indoors, Men’s & Women’s Head of the River, BUCS regatta, Women’s Henley and of course Henley Royal.

Where they train/meet

Our water training is located in the heart of Bristol’s city centre, on Bristol’s floating harbour. Land training is conducted at the Frenchay sports centre. Training times will vary according to what squad you are in, information will be distributed from co-ordinators and captains.

We have several head races, regatta races for all to attend in the season,
We start the year off with head races – pairs head, fours head that senior’s will attend. Novices will race in the first term at splash and dash, the BUCS indoors. They will be introduced to racing so will attend smaller head races such as Ariel head.
The 2nd term begins with our international trips to either Croatia, Seville or Banyoles. Followed by Eights head, BUCS head then moving over towards the regatta season that is kicked started by the BUCS sprints, Varsity Boat Race, BUCS regatta, followed by other regatta races:- met, reading, marlow to finishing with Women’s Henley and Henley Royal.
