Debts to UWE

The University takes debts very seriously. So much so that if you have a debt to UWE then this may result in sanctions, including having library and IT facilities withdrawn.

If you are a continuing student and have a debt to UWE you may be unable to enrol for your next year of study, and if you are a final year student and have a debt to UWE your award may be withheld which will have implications on proving what you achieved at UWE for employment purposes.

It is important to be aware that debts to UWE can include the following:

  • Unpaid tuition fees
  • Unpaid accommodation fees
  • Unreturned/damaged library books
  • Unrepaid short term loans

If you have a debt to UWE then it is important that you acknowledge it and do not ignore letters from UWE's Finance Department.

If you are not sure what to do or who to contact then please get in touch with the Advice Centre as soon as possible. We can help you write letters and payment plans.

REMEMBER - your debt will not go away so please seek help.
