Your Health

If you are worried about any aspect of your health the best advice is to go and see your doctor!

If you aren't registered with a doctor in Bristol the easiest thing to do is to phone the Avon Health Authority or log on to www.avon.nhs.uk - this site also contains lots more useful information.

Alternatively, you can pick up a list of doctors in your area from the Students' Union Advice Centre or Students' Union Campus Offices.

There is also an emergency dental clinic in Bristol.

You may be entitled to reduced charges, so pick up a HC1 form - these are available from the Advice Centre or your campus office. On this form you can apply for a certificate that enables you to get free or reduced cost prescriptions, dental treatment, eye test and lenses and much more!

You can also claim back NHS costs if entitled to free or low cost treatment but don't have a certificate when you are treated. You apply on a form called HC5 and you can pick one up from the Students' Union Advice Centre or Students' Union Site Offices. These forms are outside of the Advice Centre Office in the display racks so can be picked up even if we are closed!
