Statement: Joint honours languages programmes
It has recently come to our attention that the University has been reviewing some of its course provision.

As a result of this review UWE have decided not to continue with recruitment on three of their joint honours languages programmes, with immediate effect.
The Students’ Union wish to wholeheartedly assure all our members that we are committed to supporting UWE Students.
We have been assured that UWE will continue to fully support students currently enrolled on these courses until completion. The Students' Union's priority is the student experience, so we will do our upmost to make sure that their student experience and learning journey at UWE will continue as previously published with no negative disruption.
The University are standing firm on its commitment to those students currently on the affected programmes, supporting them until the end of their studies. The University have written to all students on affected courses and the Students’ Union took the opportunity to include a separate letter, committing to supporting these students in any way we can, with specific mention to feedback on their student experience through student reps and the Advice Centre.
The Students’ Union has only today received the very detailed paper-work relating to this decision and will be engaging with this immediately.
The University Academic Board, which includes representatives from all staff at the University and Student Union reps, meets on Wednesday afternoon to discuss this issue.
We have also issued the University and College Lecturer Trade Union (UCU) with an open invitation to engage in a forum on this subject.
