NUS Petition - Student Healthcare Charges
NUS has just had a petition accepted on the Downing Street website regarding our campaign against student healthcare charges.
Sign the petition against prescription charges - http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/studenthealth
The text is as follows:
We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to support the National Union of Students' campaign for accessible healthcare which calls on the government to exempt students from charges for prescriptions, dental care and eye tests.
NUS fears that increasing debt and money worries mean that students are choosing between either accessing good quality health care - which often means diverting money away from spending on basic costs such as food and study materials - or not accessing healthcare at all. Investing in affordable, quality healthcare now will ensure a healthier generation of graduates in the future. The National Union of Students is calling on the government to exempt students from charges for prescriptions, dental care and eye tests.
