Respect is a student society and national political movement that aims to fight for peace, equality and justice. We campaign for free education, basic human rights, and against war and imperialism. We oppose Britain and America's aggression in the Middle East, as we believe it compromises the rights of civilians. Respect came out of the anti-war movement in 2002, and since then has continued to grow, showing neo-liberal politicians that we want a world run for people, not for profit. Not only that, but we are prepared to stand up and be heard for it and Respect is a home to anybody who feels the same. Throughout the year we attend demonstrations and rallies, hold debates, discussions and meetings, in order to build a movement that opposes oppression.
