As well as being the elected voice for societies, the Exec have a number of responsilbilities that include society budgets, disciplinary hearings, Activities Awards and generally helping to direct society progression.

Why did you want to be on the Exec? I wanted to be on the Societies Executive to contribute to a better experience for societies. I feel that representing both the societies in which i partake and the societies of my fellow students is a fantastic opportunity, one which will allow me to help socieities to have the funding they need to run successfully. Playing an active role within UWESU will be a great enhancement of my University experience and I'm looking forward to an amazing year on the Societies Exec.

Music and Arts Rep

Why did you want to be on the Exec? I decided to become society executive as i have gained lots of experience setting up and running the live music society and thought that i have now gained skills that i could still apply to the SU (prehaps with some inside knowledge aswell!). Even though i have not been able to take a more full time role in the SU due to 3rd year work, I feel that by helping a little, it will go a long way!

Why did you want to be on the Exec? I wanted to be on societies exec because I feel that their are not enough political societies at UWE currently so I would want to use the role to increase activity and also to support the current societies.

Why did you want to be on the Exec? I've really enjoyed taking on responsibility within the paintball society, and I wanted to become a more active member of the Union. I've always felt that representatives should be trusted and experienced servants of the whole, and that's how I wanted this role to be treated. In a nutshell: I just want everything to run as smoothly as possible so everyone can enjoy their societies without any problems.
