The Activities Council is the decision making forum for societies, student media, halls and site committees.
What is it:
Activities Council is your chance to get involved with the way that your students' union is run. Representatives from all socitieties and a number of student bodies meet twice a term to discuss all manner of topics that affect students. From tackling NUS affiliation to on-site car parking, no issue is too small for Activities Council's considerations. An open meeting is held at the start of every year for you to come along to experience the type of meeting that can help to shape your experience at UWE.
When is it?
The meetings for this academic year will be held on Frenchay Campus, from 5.30pm - 7.30pm, in 2D07 on the following dates:
- Tuesday 6th October 2009
- Tuesday 1st December 2009
- Tuesday 2nd February 2010
- Tuesday 2nd March 2010
- Tuesday 27th April 2010
The deadline for all motions is 10 days before the council. For more information on how to submit a motion, click here .
Who should attend?
Anyone is free to attend the councils but one member from each society (usually the president), plus all site/standing committee chairs must attend every council. Only ratified members of the council are granted voting rights except for the open meeting at the last Activities Council of every term when we elected next year's site/standing committees and Societies Executive members.
